Tony jaa the one of the greatest martial artist in the world. and this is another example of his mastery. all of his movies are great but my fav is the Protector. this one is up there too. i didn't particularly like the end but it was good. i like the use of so many fighting styles. tiger, drunken fist, praying mantis, snake, and his specialty muay thai, to name a few. he is a genius. great work Mr. jaa!!

Although both movies were superior in fight styles i cant really compare Ong Bak and Ong Bak2. Each one showcased different martial arts techniques - muai thai and the use of various weaponry.
However both are a definitely must watch

90% rated this film as this film is outstanding.
I must say that the action /fight scenes where gritty with what you see is what you get kind of action.
This film is a simple story of revenge and love; it’s done in a style which is very entertaining. Hollywood could and should learn a few lesions from this kind of film production.

This movie cannot really be classed as a sequel to Ong Bak as the stories aren't connected in any way, perhaps this could be classed as a prequel if some tenuous link had been provided.
As for the movie the storyline is somewhat lacking, [SPOILER] . Apart from one minor twist the story has no depth.
The story is not whats important in a Tony Jaa movie however, we watch them because we want to see some amazing acrobatics and some nasty fights. To begin with this films action seems tame in comparison to the first, the fights lack the fierce brutality that stood Ong Bak out from the crowd. Tony tries different styles and weapons but this just serves to make it like any other martial arts film.
The last 25 minutes however have completely made the film and is Tony Jaa at his best, non stop no nonsense fights with some savage full contact blows. The back somersault off the elephant just has to be seen!!
3/5 for the whole movie, 5/5 for the last 25 mins - blinding!
